Copy selected web content
- Select the headings, paragraphs, list, code, or table you want in a web page or document editor.
- Copy the selection and paste on this page. The browser uses rich HTML from the clipboard when it contains text.
- Review the Markdown. Choose whether to keep links and images, then copy the source or formatted text.
Example: an article selection
Choose Try an HTML example above to convert this selection. The result preserves the heading, link, list, code language, and image reference.

- Paste a selection
- Edit the Markdown

With links and images kept, the Markdown includes:

What is cleaned up?
The converter removes supported hidden content, heading permalinks, and citation markers. It keeps headings, lists, code, and supported table structure. Layout tables become ordinary content. Select only the content you need: unrelated navigation or advertising may remain if it is part of the copied selection.
Keep links preserves link destinations. Turn it off to keep their text. Keep images preserves image references; previewing those images can contact their hosts. Turning it off removes the references from the Markdown.
Rich HTML is different from HTML source
This page converts the HTML format supplied by the clipboard. Pasting literal source such as
<h1>Hello</h1> as plain text does not invoke a general HTML-source parser. Copy the
rendered content from the page or editor instead.
Pasting a URL retains the link; the tool does not fetch or scrape the target page. It does not upload DOCX or PDF files. Open the document and copy its content.
Formulas and diagrams
Supported copied math markup can restore LaTeX when it contains embedded TeX source. A visual formula or diagram without source may only be an image. Mermaid diagrams need Mermaid source; copying a diagram screenshot cannot reconstruct that source.
Text and HTML conversion run in your browser. If you paste a clipboard image for recognition, it is uploaded to backend worker for recognition. See How it works for processing details and copy formats, or Excel to Markdown for spreadsheet cells.
