How it works

Everything to Markdown converts clipboard content to Markdown, previews LaTeX and Mermaid, and copies formatted articles. It is free to use, with no sign-up.

Paste, edit, and copy

  1. Copy a selection from a web page, document editor, or spreadsheet. For an image, copy the image itself or take a screenshot to the clipboard.
  2. Open the converter and press Ctrl + V on Windows or Linux, or ⌘ + V on macOS. You can also choose Paste from clipboard.
  3. Edit the result in the Markdown pane. Paste inside this pane to insert content at the cursor.
  4. Select and copy the Markdown source, or use Copy formatted text to paste into an editor that accepts formatting.

Choose the right copy format

Copy formatted text writes HTML and a Markdown plain-text fallback to the clipboard. A rich-text editor can use the HTML. A plain-text field uses the Markdown, so the result there looks the same as copying the source.

WeChat Article formats an article for WeChat Official Accounts. Choose Copy for WeChat to copy inline article styles, with external links collected as numbered references. The destination editor may change styles or remove images.

What can I paste?

Copy content from a file, not the file itself. File uploads and file drops, including PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and image files, are not supported. Pasting a URL keeps the link; it does not fetch the page.

Preview math and diagrams

Use $...$ or \(...\) for inline math. Put $$...$$ or \[...\] on separate lines for display math. This supports LaTeX mathematical expressions, not complete .tex documents.

Inline: $E = mc^2$

$$
\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}
$$

Put Mermaid source in a fenced block labelled mermaid. Flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and Gantt charts are included in Try an example.

```mermaid
flowchart LR
  A[Paste] --> B[Markdown]
  B --> C[Preview]
```

Source stays editable. Formulas and diagrams become PNG images when copied as formatted text. A screenshot of a diagram cannot be restored to Mermaid source. Invalid expressions keep their source and show an error indication.

Where is my content processed?

Text and HTML conversion, math rendering, and Mermaid rendering run in your browser. Clipboard images are uploaded to backend worker for recognition. Previewing linked images can contact the sites that host them.

Changed options and pane width are saved in browser storage. Recognition results can appear in browser console logs; the Worker logs status and errors. The site permits Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Why does pasting sometimes fail?

The browser may deny clipboard access to the button. Try the keyboard shortcut or the paste field on a touch device. Some apps only provide private clipboard formats; copy the text or cells directly instead. Image recognition depends on the provider's availability and quotas.

What do the options change?

Keep links and Keep images control whether those elements remain in the Markdown. Align tables pads Markdown columns with spaces for easier source reading; it does not set cell alignment in the preview.
